A load of alcoholic beverages without tax documentation valued at BRL 289,800.96 was seized in the early hours of Wednesday 23rd by the Alagoas State Treasury Department (Sefaz) during a routine inspection operation on the BR-423 motorway in the municipality of Canapi, in the Sertão region of Alagoas. The seized goods were destined for the state of Pernambuco.
According to Sefaz, the lorry was carrying brandy, rum, vodka and whisky. The lorry was sent to the Sefaz warehouse in Maceió. In addition, the corresponding tax and fine of BRL 110,000.00 were paid into the public coffers and an invoice was issued to regularise the operation.
The operation was carried out in conjunction with teams from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the Police Operational Unit (UOP) of Carié village, in Canapi, and the Finance Company of the Alagoas Military Police (PMAL).
