Illegally imported goods are seized at Correios in Foz

More than 300 illegally imported goods were seized by the Federal Revenue Service at the Correios distribution centre in Foz do Iguaçu, in western Paraná.

According to customs inspectors, the products had no proof of import and were therefore irregular. The seizure was carried out on Monday (7).

In all, 334 volumes of foreign goods, valued at BRL 40 thousand, were seized and sent to the Federal Revenue Service.

According to the agency, among the products retained were household appliances, hair accessories, thermal claws, perfumes, among others.

According to the IRS, illegal imports and other tax irregularities harm the Brazilian economy.

In addition to being introduced into the market without collecting taxes, irregularly imported products promote unfair competition.
