PRF seizes about 5 tons of goods during accident response



On this Thursday morning (22), during an accident, the Federal Highway Police (PRF) made the seizure of several goods of foreign origin without tax documentation, at km 730 of BR-381, in the municipality of Carmo da Cachoeira (MG).

The team was called to attend to the overturning of a trunk truck, M.BENZ/L 1513, which was going from Montes Claros (MG) to São Paulo (SP) and, during the inspection in the cargo compartment, the police found that there were several volumes of goods of foreign origin, totaling approximately 5 tons of various products, including electronic equipment and personal hygiene products.

When questioned, the 27-year-old driver informed that he did not have fiscal documentation for the transported goods to prove the regular customs clearance. Thus, it was configured, in theory, the crime of smuggling.

Therefore, all the goods were seized and left at the disposal of the Federal Revenue Office for the relevant legal procedures.
