PRF seizes more than 1,500 litres of alcoholic beverages without an invoice

On Friday (13), a team from the Federal Highway Police (PRF) was carrying out traffic checks and combating crime in the municipality of Alvorada/TO, when they stopped a white M.benz/L 1620 truck being driven by a male national.

During the traffic checks, the team became suspicious of the documentation presented by the driver because there were no inspection stamps from the Tocantins State Treasury Department (Sefaz/TO) on the invoices for the goods being transported.

Upon inspecting the cargo, the police found 48 bottles of cognac, 168 bottles of vodka, 228 bottles of wine, 12 bottles of bitter, 1,444 bottles of cachaça, 552 bottles of alcoholic cocktails, 144 cans of energy drinks and 4 bottles of whisky, all transported without proper tax documentation, totalling 1,544 litres of alcoholic beverages.

In view of the facts, all the seized goods were sent to SEFAZ for the appropriate procedures.

In another case, still in Alvorada/TO, the team approached a silver-coloured Vw/24.280 Crm 6x2 vehicle, which was also being driven by a man.

During the approach, the driver presented the invoices, but both did not have the Sefaz inspection stamps. In addition, he did not have the Auxiliary Document for the Electronic Manifest of Tax Documents (DAMDFe), which is a mandatory document for the type of transport being inspected.

When inspecting the cab of the vehicle, the police also found a whitish-coloured powdery substance diluted in a liquid in a bottle, with the characteristics of amphetamine tablets crushed and diluted in the drink, and several alcoholic drinks without any kind of tax document.

As a result, all the goods were seized and sent to Sefaz and the case was referred to the Gurupi/TO Civil Police.
