Smuggling: Içara PMRV stops bus coming from Uruguay with more than BRL 90,000 in alcoholic beverages

A bus with eight passengers was approached at the Içara Military Road Police (PMRv) station and found to be carrying a load of alcoholic beverages that had been purchased in Uruguay without the proper tax declaration, characterising the occurrence of smuggling.

As the goods without the purchase ticket were only presumed to belong to the driver, all the others were also seized for further investigation by the Federal Police.

In total, 700 bottles were seized which, based on their respective average market prices, totalled more than BRL 90,000.

The vehicle, driver and passengers were then released, while the goods were seized and handed over to the Federal Police.
